Kollad is a Village in Kottayam district of Kerala, India. It is situated 5 km south of Kottayam town encircled by rivers, paddy fields and hills having a 30000 + population of various cast and creeds. It is surrounded by various Karas (Local areas) Kollattukunnu, Pally kunnu, Malamelkkavu, Kaduvakkulam, Poovanthuruthu, Mooledam, Kunnampally, Punnakal chugam, and Alappuzhakkara. The place has lot of rich NRI families working in middle east, many back from 1970s. Many people, mostly educated and cultured, have migrated to other cities of India and abroad over years.
The place is famous for temples, churches, political, social and cultural activities. Kollad is renowned for its Christian church - St. Pauls Orthodox Church, which is also known as Kollad pally, Kollad Pally was built in nineteenth century.This church is situated on the Northern and southern banks of the Kodoor River respectively, and is about 4 kilometres away from Kanjikkuzhi junction, Kottayam.
The church was renovated and opened for the believers on 21st january 2015.
